E&A 2021 Trade Show Canceled Due to COVID-19 Restrictions
Earlier this summer, we announced our participation in the E&A trade show from September 28 to 30. However, we regret to inform you that the FHI boards involved have decided to cancel Electronics & Applications 2021.
In June, the E&A committee members and the board members of the organizing association FHI were hopeful that the 1.5-meter distancing requirement would be lifted by the end of September. The expectation was that a safe trade show without the 1.5-meter distancing rule could proceed based solely on the Corona Check app. However, last Friday's press conference indicated that this certainty is not yet in place.
COVID-19 Measures
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and uncertainty surrounding the potential relaxation of these rules, there are too few options to offer members and exhibitors a quality trade show experience. The rules regarding the 1.5-meter distancing measure, in particular, present significant limitations on the trade show floor. This includes widening aisles to 6 meters, implementing one-way traffic in the aisles, and limiting the number of visitors at our stand. Additionally, this measure raises the barrier to a successful trade show visit.
The next decision point from the government regarding the possible lifting of the 1.5-meter measure comes too late for us (September 13). At that point, thorough preparation for a successful trade show participation would no longer be feasible. This uncertainty also negatively impacts the show's visitor turnout.
