New 360° Shielded Circular Connector: Faster Assembly, Proven Reliability
Lumberg’s new 360° shielded circular connector offers a solution to field assembly requirements and the demands of high-volume pre-assembly for manufacturers. An innovative internal shielding mechanism in the housing allows the entire connector to be assembled from far fewer individual parts. This design has also been registered for patent approval. It enables a much faster cable assembly process for both soldering and crimping.

The labor-intensive steps of extending, trimming, and applying a shielding braid—commonly required with similar connectors—are completely eliminated. This improvement not only speeds up assembly but also increases assembly quality by reducing typical errors, significantly enhancing the connector’s waterproof properties. Compared to conventional circular connectors, this assembly process is 50% faster. In addition to resistance to salt, dust, and UV rays, a patented ratchet mechanism in the metal housing provides tactile feedback to installers and ensures lasting vibration protection.
Perfect Fit
Designed with an IP68 protection rating and meeting the AISG C485 specification in both 05-3 and 08-1 pin configurations per IEC 61076-2-106, this connector is a perfect fit for rigorous requirements.
It also accommodates larger cable diameters, with cables up to 10 mm posing no issue. The connector is rated for signal and load currents up to 5 A and a nominal voltage up to 100 V AC with pollution degree 1. This makes it ideal for use in 4G and 5G antenna control, ensuring seamless electrical connections between base stations at both ends of RET cables (remote electrical tilt antennas) and related devices such as bias tees, TMAs (tower-mounted amplifiers), and surge protectors in typical application areas.

The new connector also clearly simplifies assembly for industrial and medical applications requiring shielded cables. Standard pin configurations will gradually become available in the near future.
